Faith in schools
Barnet has a number of faith schools for both primary and secondary pupils. Jewish and Christian secondary schools provide for young people of these faiths – and each can be contacted directly to explore the entrance criteria. Look at the www.barnet.gov.uk website for school contact details.
School assemblies
Barnet SACRE (the Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education) trains people from different faith communities to go into schools and give assemblies that are appropriate to the different key stages. Christian groups working in schools
n:flame exists to work with churches and serve secondary schools. They aim to release and train volunteers from churches to serve their local schools through pastoral support, supporting the RE curriculum and providing quality PSE lessons that help support the national curriculum. There are 7 area teams, including High Barnet and Edgware, which consist of networks of youth workers who provide services to schools. Jewish groups working in schools

Hindu Schools
There are currently no Hindu schools in the London Borough of Barnet but there are 3 Hindu schools in neighbouring boroughs.
The Krishna-Avanti Primary School is the UK's first Hindu faith-based Voluntary Aided state school (and as such does not charge fees). Hindu Academy co-ordinates many classes throughout the UK, teaching Hinduism at GCSE and Advanced levels and is the most prominent body in the UK involved in this work. They also provide resources such as revision notes and teachers guide notes and help with arranging school trips to temples and monasteries.
